Slade performed at the wet and soggy Great Western Express Festival (otherwise known as The Lincoln Festival) on Sunday 28 May 1972.
The performed just before Monty Python's Flying Circus, and top of the bill band, The Beach Boys.
Slade were a resounding success and over the next couple of week's Slade were on the music press front pages - because of their great performance...
